Kämper Catherine
Catherine Kämper got her first musical education at the "Felix Mendelsohn - Bartholdy" University with Prof. Christian Wetzel in Leipzig, where she graduated with the orchestra diploma. The program of Erasmus, a scholarship of DAAD and the following abroad period has brought her to London, where she studied with Celia Nicklin and Douglas Boyd as well as to the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Zürich for studies of baroque oboe. In the class of Prof. Günther Passin she received her soloist diploma with distinction and completed her studies in master classes with Albrecht Mayer, Christoph Hartmann, Stefan Schilli and Ingo Goritzki.
Her first experience with orchestra she gained at the Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival and at the Bachakademie with Helmut Rilling.
From 2002 to 2008 she got short-term contracts at the NDR Radiophilharmonie of Hannover, at the WDR symphony Orchestra of Köln, at the Philharmonic Orchestra of Hamburg and at the Opera house in Zürich.
Since 2008 Catherine Kämper is Solo English Horn at the Berner Sinfonieorchester and member of the Berner Bläseroktett.
