Dragan Andriy
Andriy Dragan, winner of Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes 2009 was born in Lviv, Ukraine, in 1986 to a musical family, and showed a keen interest in music from an early age taking piano lessons with my parents and Prof. Lidia Krych. Since 1993 he studied piano at the Music Boarding School and later at the Lviv State Music Academy in Lviv with Prof. L. Krych. In 2004 he entered Music Academy of Basel (Switzerland), where he received his master degrees with Prof. Adrian Oetiker.
He attended Master classes of world famous musicians, such as Dmitry Bashkirov, Zoltan Kocsis, Piotr Anderszewsky, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Alfred Brendel, Ferenc Rados. He also visited regularly the Summer Academy of Music in Lenk, directed by A. Oetiker. This year Andriy Dragan is invited to participate in the prestigious Festival Academy of Verbier.
Andriy Dragan has performed extensively as a soloist, as well as with orchestras and as a chamber music player in such countries like Switzerland, Ukraine, Poland, France, Italy, USA, Japan. Orchestras with which he performed include: The Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, INSO Lviv, "IL MOSAICO" , "Festival Orchestra of the Musik Akademie der Stadt Basel", Sinfonieorchester Basel, etc. With such conductors as T. Füri, H. Ostendarp, K. Griffiths, S. Tewinkel, V. Sirenko, G. Mattes, J. Kolessa, V. Zhadko, J. Bervetskyj, E. Ona, etc.
He also participated in festivals such as G. Kremer´s Festival "Les Muséiques" in Basel (Switzerland, 2006), "Menhir"-Festival (Switzerland, 2006), Ancient Music Festival (Ukraine, 2006), "Virtuoses" (Ukraine, 2006, 2007), "Kontrasts"-Modern Music Festival (Ukraine, 1998), “Schlusskonzerte Basel 2007” (Switzerland), 25. Davos Festival, Musiksommer am Zürichsee (2010), Menuhin Festival Gstaad 2010, 2013), Adelboden Chamber Music Festival, Piano Campus Cergy-Pontoise, France (2013).
Andriy Dragan is a winner of many prestigious competitions and awards in Switzerland and abroad such as: Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes 2009 (Switzerland); "S. Prokofiev- Competition" (Ukraine, 2000); "Seiler-Competition" (Germany, 2001); "Oldenburg-Competition; "V. Krajnyev-Competition" (Ukraine, 2002); "Prix Rotary" (Switzerland, 2005); “M. Lysenko Piano Competition” (Ukraine, 2007). During his studies in Switzerland he received scholarships from such foundations as Lyra Stiftung, Gerber Stiftung, Hirschmann Stiftung.
In February 2013 Andriy won the 1st Prize and the Collard Award of the prestigious Kiefer-Hablitzel Competition in Bern.
