Horváth Zoltán
Teacher, pianist and organ player Horváth Zoltán was born in Cluj, where, after graduating from the “Sigismund Toduţă” Music High School, he graduated from the class of prof. Adriana Bera at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy. He is currently a piano teacher at the “Sigismund Toduţă” Music High School in Cluj and the pipe organ player of the Lutheran Church. Over time, he participated in master classes held by Attila Némethy (Hungary), Imre Rohmann (Austria), Gérard Fremy (France), Jaap Schröder (The Netherlands). In 1997 he was awarded a scholarship at the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in Budapest and a performance scholarship, together with violinist Melinda Béres (2004). In 1994 he won the second prize at the W.A. Mozart Music Competition for trios, entered the semifinals in the Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Bucharest (1995) and participated in the international piano competition in Bremen.
The Ministry of Education and Research awarded him a diploma for excellency in 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2013 for the outstanding results of his pupils. He performed on piano, pipe organ and chamber music in Cluj, Oradea, Zalău, Târgu-Mureş, Bistriţa, Deva, Sighişoara, Odorhei, Cristur, Miercurea-Ciuc, Reşiţa, Tăşnad and abroad, in Hungary, Germany, France, Switzerland. Since 2005, he is the mentor of the pipe organ and chamber music concert season held at the Evangelical Church in Cluj.
