Béres Melinda
The violinist Melinda Béres was born and raised in Târgu Mureş. After finishing high school, Melinda continued her studies at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy, in Cluj-Napoca. There she was a student of the remarkable Professor Victoria Nicolae with whom she also took master classes. Melinda won many prizes during her high school years (1985-1988), as well as international prizes at the “Constantin Silvestri” and “C. Flesch” competitions.
Melinda Béres has had the privilege of enriching her instrumental knowledge with notable and dedicated teachers Alexandru Gavrilovici, Vasile Beluska, Trio Čadek, Jacques Saint-Yves, Devics Sándor, Jaap Schroeder, Ferenc Gábor, Mira Glodeanu (baroc violin), etc. She has given important recitals in Romania as well as in Germany, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, France, Russia and Belgium. Melinda has performed as a soloist with several orchestras from Cluj, Târgu Mureş, Sibiu, Oradea, Chamber Orchestra of the “Gheorghe-Dima” Music Academy from Cluj, and Radio Orchestra from Budapest. Currently Melinda is a Lecturer and violin teacher at the “Gheorghe-Dima” Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca where she obtained the title Doctor in Music with the thesis “String Quintet. Mozart Hypostasis”.
